About

I have spent more than twenty years where products, partners and customers meet.

I started in hotels, running front offices in Phoenix and Tucson. At Enterprise, I built referral partnerships with credit unions. Then came seven years at FedEx, selling logistics in Phoenix, Miami and Houston. In 2015 I joined Collinson, the company behind Priority Pass, to build its business in Latin America. I have spent most of the years since there, in account management, product strategy and partnerships. In between, I spent two years at Carrot Fertility, first building its provider network across Latin America and then as a content and UX designer.

Along the way I started more than five businesses of my own. Most of them failed.

Today I lead Global Partner Engagement at Collinson, the function behind how we work with our partners at scale.

That path means I rarely see a problem from one angle. The Jorge from product sees one thing. The Jorge from sales sees another. The Jorge from operations sees a third. They don't always agree. It is a blessing and a curse, and it's what most of this site is about.

I work in English and Spanish, and so does this site. From 2016 to 2019 I wrote nine pieces on business travel for Revista Travel Manager, a Spanish magazine for travel managers. I have also been building on the web since 2016. These days that means building AI tools for my own work, which is where the AI and human judgment pieces will come from.

This site is personal, and the opinions are my own. You can reach me at [email protected] or on LinkedIn.
